We use the DHCP option on our firewall to pass out private
IPs. Over the last months, the DHCP part of the firewall
crashes and will not give out more than half of the IPs in
the pool of numbers it has. No matter what I do on each
of our client machines, they will not get a lease on a
number. We are on our 3rd firewall from the company who
maintains that the firewall has nothing wrong with it. If
the firewall is okay, then what could be happening on our
network that is screwing up the DHCP? I've done captures
using Ethereal, but I don't see anything strange. I've
checked all of our switches and they seem fine. Any
thoughts please? I am at my wits end. Thank you.
