Win2000 SP4 file server on a small isolated office LAN with 14 WinXP Pro SP1
workstations. I run the LAN and maintain the computers myself, but I am
pretty much a newbie.
I have three errors filling my otherwise uneventful event logs and would
appreciate any help in resolving their causes.
This error is produced every 15 mins. in my Directory Service Log:
_______________________________________
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: NTDS KCC
Event Category: Knowledge Consistency Checker
Event ID: 1091
Date: 9/2/2003
Time: 9:57:11 AM
User: N/A
Computer: BIOCONCEPTS
Description:
The ntdsConnection object CN=BIOCONCEPTS,CN=NTDS
Settings,CN=BIOCONCEPTS,CN=Servers,CN=Default-First-Site,CN=Sites,CN=Configu
ration,DC=EVERYONE,DC=local dictates that the local server should replicate
from itself. This is not a valid configuration and will be ignored. Please
use the Active Directory Sites and Services Manager to modify or delete this
object.

I know the local server shouldn't replicate from itself, but there is only
one server. Can I disable the warning? Or can I only ignore it?
This error is produced every 5 mins. in the Application Log:

And it is quickly followed by this error:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Userenv
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1000
Date: 9/1/2003
Time: 5:57:24 PM
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Computer: BIOCONCEPTS
Description:
The Group Policy client-side extension Security was passed flags (17) and
returned a failure status code of (3).

As far as I can tell, the security policy the events refer to does not
exist. Perhaps it derived from one of my earlier configuration attempts. How
do I keep AD from attempting to read this object?
This event shows up every 10 minutes in the System log:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: DhcpServer
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1051
Date: 9/2/2003
Time: 9:48:19 AM
User: N/A
Computer: BIOCONCEPTS
Description:
The description for Event ID ( 1051 ) in Source ( DhcpServer ) cannot be
found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or
message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be
able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and
Support for details. The following information is part of the event: ,
EVERYONE.local, 0.
Data:
0000: 00 00 00 00 ....
_______________________________________
My server and all of my workstations are on pre-assigned IP addresses. I
don't think DHCP should be involved in anything. In fact, opening DHCP
configuration in the Administrative Tools program Group shows that DHCP is
not configured. Why is it trying to run?
Thanks in advance.
