I am trying to segment a portion of my network with a D-
Link router and want my existing DHCP server to serve
that subnet as well as the main one. I have the router
set up to pass ports 67 & 38 in both directions but I do
not seem to be connecting to the DHCP server from the new
subnet. All other traffic works fine from the new subnet.
What might I be missing her?

THanks in advance.

DHCP clients BROADCAST -- merely allowing datagram traffic will
not suffice.

You must either pass broadcasts (referred to as "BootP fowarding" aka
"RFC 1542 compliant router" enabled) or you must have a "DHCP
Relay Agent" on the network with the broadcasting clients. (Aka on
"DHCP helper").

Only other choice is a local DHCP server.
