dfs question

Can DFS root folder ran off from DC? I read it somewhere, that the ROOT
folder can be only ran from a member server. Also, can I integrated
2003/2000 DFS from 2000/2003 with Samba and Novell servers?

Yes, domain Dfs root must be on a stand-alone server:

Dfs is supported in Samba -
http://au1.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-HOWTO-Collection/msdfs.html. As
for the Novell servers - it's hard to say because Novell is a company and
not a product. Last version of Netware I used didn't support Dfs.

Thanks for the reply. I assumed it wouldn't work with Netware.
