Hi!
I have created a Dfs share for an users home share.
Unfortunate I made a mistake when it was created
(spelling of the name). I hade the path name correct in
the AD (Usermanager). When the user open his home share
he could see files and folder there as everthing was
allright. He created new files and folders, he even
worked with his PST file in Outlook. This continue for 10
days before I noticed the mistake in the Dfs share name.
After I correct my misstake everything that the user has
made has disappeared, all files and folders. It`s not on
the backup either. We could see the shortcut of the files
under Recent in the Users profile. But all the files and
his work is gone. How could this happend? And where are
the files?

Hi Lars,

Thanks for your posting here.

As I know, your action should not cause this issue.

A suggestion would be to check the DFS to find which server that the real
shared folder of the home share is put. Then perform a thorough search on
that server.

If you cannot find the data, please stop any action on that server. I
recommend that you contact the third-party data recovery company for
further help.

Best regards,
Bob Qin
