On a Windows 2003 DC server I have created a root in the DFS. Connecting to
it using
net use x: \\domain\dfs-root

works OK when executed on the server itself, but nothing is displayed when
I'm browsing the network (looking in "Microsoft Windows Network"), not even
when doing it on the DC.

In the dfs manager, DFS referral=enabled and status=online
Other clients can't connect to the dfs-root.

Any idears ?

Thanks in advance

Ok you mentioned browsing on the network. I dont believe you can browse to a
DFS share via Network Places.

Can clients hit this?

\\domain\dfs-root

Are you sure.

No. Error 53 is returned when doing: "net use x: ......."
The client is a W2K SP4. The user logged in, is a member of the
Administrators group
on the DC.

The problem has been solved. It was a DNS problem on the workstation.

The problem was that a conflicting DHCP server delivered a wrong DNS server
IP.
Really embarrassing. Sorry.
