In W2003 Gold & SP1 it was possible to set up DFS so that old servers
could be consolidated to new ones so that end users could use the old
UNCs to connect to files which where now on the new server.
Very useful as it avoided users having to rename a zillion files,
links etc.
It worked by using hash (#) infront of the redirector name and then
adding the old server name to the new serer as an alternative name.
But in R2 it seems to have been broken. Normal DFS works fine but root
consolidation fails.
Can anyone else confirm this or offer suggestions etc?
