Dfs problems again! after success on our test network, we
have installed DFS on our two server, active directory
network. Some where during replication a folder in the 90
gigs of data has become corrupt. It also had a FRS error in
event log stating that the staging area was FULL! does this
suggest a hardrive (corruption) problem OR is the
corruption the result of the Staging area being full? DFS
did create the folder with folder_ntfrs_xxxxx! this
folder will not let us rename it, so our users can not
access it in the normal way! DfS stagin area damage or
hardrive going south? Thanks for the help in advance! Hank B

Brian, Thanks for the reply, We actually have 90 GIGS of
data we are trying to replicate mostly for fail-over
reasons! Do We need 90 gigs Plus sysvol space for staging?
Do we need that much if we start with identical shares,
then make our DFS replicas? Thanks in Advance! Hank B

Hank,

I'm not a DFS/FRS expert, but, in my experience when replicating large
datasets you need to have a very large staging area for the initial
replication. Once htat's done, you can crank it down to something more sane.
I'd just set the staging area to a good size, it iwll never need to be 90
gig unless your network link can't keep up w/ the intiial replication.
