What I wanted to do is put my users profiles in \\mydomain.com\root\profiles
so I could reference this in the roaming profile field, by setting up
replicated targets I though I would make it available on several machines in
case one ever went down, and have some redundency.

Am i incorrect in my usage, or should I be using links?

Hi

You could do this but we do not recommend putting dynamic user data on
replicated DFS links. Putting roaming profile on a DFS link that is on a
single source is fine but multiple sources will more than likely lead to
problems....

Consider the following scenario:
Roaming profiles replicated using DFS between Server 1 and 2

User logs on and gets roaming profile from server 1, user then logs off and
profile copied back to server 1
User logs on again before DFS file replication, gets profile from Server 2
All of the changes made to the profile in the users last session will be
lost.

Also user profiles can get really large..... do you really want this
replicating over your network every time a user logs off?
