I was wondering if anyone had a best practices whitepaper for setting up
DFS.. I looked on MS site but didn't see one.

Does anyone know if there is a problem mixing OS's?? I have one Win2003
server and 2 Win2K server and would like not to have to rebuild the 2K
servers when we do this.

Thanks!

Take a look at the documents provided up on www.microsoft.com/dfs. We have a
file server deployment guide that covers DFS design as well as a FAQ. The
issue of mixing W2K and W2K3 root servers is also covered in the "How It
Works" section in the DFS technical reference.

To answer your specific question, there are some issues regarding hosting
DFS on servers running W2K and W2K3. The issues have to do with how DFS
handles site information and which tools you use to manage the namespace.

Jill,

Thanks a million!
