Skeleton Man

Hi,

I recently aquired 3x DFM-562I PCI modems (brand new, in box, never opened)
and none of them work.
If I put one in to my machine, it will either power on and not post, or not
power on at all.. (have tried 3 different PC's)

It strikes me as odd that I would have all 3 cards fail when they've never
even been used..

Any ideas ?

Regards,
Chris

I think you need a more powerful PSU (Power Supply Unit).
The PCI modems would be OK.

Several different power supplies have been tried, but it doesn't seem to
effect it.
As for an update on things, I had them tried in a AT computer today - at
least the system boots and windows even detects them, but soon as you
attempt to use them the system hangs.

Any further ideas?

Thanks.
Jimmy.

IRQ jumper on the cards?

Na, no jumpers on the card whatsoever.

BTW the chipset of these modems are an Intel "DQ82536EP" which appears to be
a reasonably used chipset with very few faults known. I have rung RA and
haven't got a response from them yet.

Thanks.

Same problem here. 2 different cards, no power up on one machine and
no post on the other. the motherboard that it doesn't power up on is a
MSI K7N2. Can't remember the other board tho sorry.

Any luck with your problem??
