This is my first time using Movie Maker and I realy don't know what I am
doing. I have managed to import what I recorded on my video camara. The only
problem is that when I try to add it to storyboard I can only view 5 seconds
of what I recorded. It seems to go very quick. I would like to be able to
divide my recording into many segments and be able to add transitions between
the segments. Does anyone know how to do this? Please help!!! Thanks.

Sounds like the import failed.

Win XP or Vista?

Make and model of your camcorder?

Did you use your IEEE1394 FireWire
connection to import the video?

The operating system is VISTA.
The video camara is a Sony model DCR-DVD92
I opened the disk drive and copied and pasted it to Movie Maker. When I
view it I only see about 5 seconds of it. If I manually move the cursor
below the view screen I can see the whole video as long as I move the cursor
my self. Any suggestions?

Ok...it appears that your HandyCam
records video on Optical Media...DVDs?

I guess you are pasting the .VOB files into
Movie Maker?

Copy / paste from the DVD to Movie Maker
may not the best bet.

Try going to...File / Import Media Items /
browse to the VOB files / Import. If this
fails...you may have to convert the VOB
files to a different format.

Be aware...if you save the project file and re-
open it later for re-editing...the original source
files must be available and in the original location.

So...you may want to consider copying the files
to a folder on your hard drive before you import
them into Movie Maker
