I recently purchased a new PC. Upgrading from widows 98 to windows xp. On my new system (windows xp) i installed adaptec Easy CD creator v4. However, this version was only compatible for windows 98. So an error message was displayed, and so i removed the CD writing software. Ever since i installed this software, i recieve an error message, everytime anybody logs onto to the computer. The title of the error message is the subject above. Below this title, it says, "some devices, applications or drivers have been disabled as they cause windows to become unstable." I click upon this message, and it takes me to the windows help and suport window, and it shows a list of files, devices etc that are causing this problem. At the top of the list were 3 system files of Easy CD creator. I searched for these files and deleted them. I still recieve this error message. How do i correct the problem so i do not recieve this error message?

Go to Start>Run type: msconfig select Startup and look for a
EasyCD entry there. Uncheck if there.
You also can go to Start>Run type: regedit Navigate to
HKey_Local_Machine>Software Look for Adaptec folder expand and
delete any reference to EasyCD.
do the same at HKey_Current_User>Software. DO NOT DELETE THE
ADAPTEC FOLDER.
