Anyone know the legal/licensing issue with acquisition and dispersal of
patches with Device Update Agent. We would like to patch via network
and non-network environment that the customer would setup themselves.

Bic

Patches from the QFE that you get off MSDN. I guess these are the
Windows patches... what are the licensing/legal issue.

There are no licensing requirements for thse patches, but most of these
patches get applied to the database and not the image itself, unless you use
the QFE update utility.

QFE update utility? We are extracting the QFE and then running
DUAScriptGen to generate our own script and we would like to provide
these files to our customer so they can either put it on their
network/http share to be updated or onto a memory stick to update on
the local device with has Device Update Agent running. Is there any
legal or licensing concern on this issue?

Sean,

Any further comments on this?

No legal issues since this is an update. If you have questions about legal
issues, you should contract your Microsoft distributor directly.
