We assume you had no hardware failure, i.e. all devices and drives work as formerly. 2. Load a System Restore point dated before this development occurred. 3. Check for viruses and malware.

J JS Aug 10, 2008 #3 Are you using a Norton product and then installed XP SP3, if so "Some of the issues included the Device Manager showing as empty and no options under Network management" See: http://www.thetechherald.com/article.php/200824/1206/Symantec-offers-XP-SP3-fix The fix was rolled out in June but if you haven't used Live Update lately you may not have it.
