Device Manager troubles

Device manager giving me troubles... I cant see any of the devices when I open
device manager. I tried MS's solution
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/311504/en-us but that didnt work... Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.... I lost access to all my network
connections also....
