Device driver error?

My computer keeps rebooting and giving a device driver as the cause. I have
uninstalled all drivers and hardware and reinstalled them starting with the
monitor. All was fine for several days, then I installed the video card
software, and all was fine for several more days. I then installed my sound
card and all was good except that windows says that there is no sound device.
My monitor is a BenQ FP71G+, video card is a ATI All in wonder X800XT, and
my sound card is a Soundblaster Audigy. All with the latest drivers.
It took several attempts to install the updates for all the hardware as I
kept getting corrupt file errors.
I am not sure what else to do about this. I even install new chipset drivers
but that did not help either.
This error occurs several times a day and needles to say it has me stumped.

Does it give any hint as to which driver is the problem? Have you checked
the event viewer to see if there are any indications there?

As far as using the latest drivers, I know a lot of people recommend that,
but for some devices, the latest is not always the best. Video card
manufacturers in particular seem to put out new drivers every five minutes,
and the latest may not be the best for every computer out there.

Also, if you're getting a bunch of random errors on unrelated files, it
could also be a hard drive problem or a ram problem rather than the files
themselves. First thing to try is re-downloading the files to make sure you
have good copies, though.

I have checked the event viewer but there is nothing there to indicate a
problem.
The error message states a device driver is the problem. I have not had
any other errors that cause my computer to reboot.
As far as my no sound device detected, I have uninstalled my sound card and
removed it for now.
I keep thinking these errors may be a motherboard problem. My motherboard is
a Giga-byte GA-K8NSC-939. I have updated the chipset drivers and disabled the
onboard sound but nothing I have done so far has worked.
I can only assume that these two problems are or maybe related.

I have discovered that "ATI WDM Rage Theater Video NSP" and "Creative Audigy
Audio Processor (WDM)" are not installed, a code 28 is displayed. When I try
to install these drivers installation fails stating the files are invalid.

Download your video drivers from ATI and the sound drivers from Creative and
see if that clears things up.

If not, I'm betting you've got some bad ram.

ATI has a special program to uninstall, ATI CAT uninstall. If you don't
use this some files may be left behind and corrupt the new install. Just a
thought. Hope this helps. RLH

I have done this a couple of times but installation failed. As far as the
bad ram I am beginning to come to the same conclusion.
I will try new ram and see if that does the trick.

I have had my ram and harddrive checkout and they are both fine. I will take
my motherboard in next week for checking.

Creative downloaded drivers will not install. They need to locate the
original drivers that you install off the CD. This has been their policy
for some time now.

I have had my ram, harddrive, motherboard and cpu checked out and all are
fine. then erased my hard drive again and reinstalled windows, all is working
fine now at the time of this posting. I did have problems with installing sp2
it took 4 attempts to install and 3 attempts with the video driver. I had
help doing this with a computer engineer who suggested I check with my isp to
see if there is a problem with my connection that could cause problems with
downloading drivers. As I suspected they say there is no problems with my
connection.
I am still currious as the cause of this problem, Do you have any other
ideas as to the cause?
