I have Windows XP Pro and I wanted to know if this
operating system has problems working with other
peripherals. For example, I have a working Lexmark Z65p
printer that wouldn't work with Windows XP without
updating its driver. So I removed the old driver and
reinstalled the latest driver version successfully.
Now my system crashes even more giving me the same results
as before. Somebody please tell me if I can use my
printer with a MSI 661FM-L mainboard supported by Win XP
PRO.

Did you really uninstall the Lexmark correctly? They can be a difficult
hardware item to get rid of. Disconnect the printer from the PC then follow
Bruce Sanderson's instructions....

And pay particular attention to his steps 14 thru 16!

Then download a new set of drivers from Lexmark, install the software and do
NOT reconnect the printer until the software tells you to do so.

The problems with corrupted drivers on printers are generally used by user
error in the first place... and the most often seen scenario is when the
printer is kept connected to the PC during an operating system upgrade or
reinstall. Moral.... DISCONNECT the printer BEFORE the upgrade! A two
second job to accomplish.... and a bit of a nightmare to fix if omitted!
