Hi,
I upgraded my computer from Win98 to WinXP and everything works great with
the exception of one annoying, but not critical problem: my floppy drive
does not work. When I go to the device manager, I see that there is a
conflict problem with my floppy disk controller -- there is 2 of the same
floppy disk controllers enabled. When I disable one of them, there is still
a problem. When I uninstall one of the controllers, my floppy drive will
work great until the computer has to be rebooted. When XP boots back up it
says that it found new hardware and installs another of the same controller
which causes my floppy drive to stop working again. Is there any way to
stop this from happening or will I have to go into my device manager
everytime I boot up my computer and uninstall the extra disk controller? If
anybody can help me out with this little problem I would be very grateful.
