Development tool?

Hi all!

If I needed to buy a dev. tool just for writing PocketPC (CompactFramework)
app. in VisualBasic.NET, what is the less expensive (but professional) tool?

Other question: when is programmed the next VisualStudio release?
I don't want to by a VS.net 2003 tool to discover that the next month will
be released the 2004 version

However, for the record, I think it's safe to by 2003 as oppposed to waiting
to 2004. The upgrade from 2002 to 2003 was under $30.00 if I remember
correctly, I think it was $29.00 and well worth it. I expect as much as MS
is nurturing CF development in particular and .NET development overall,
they'll have a similar pricing plan for the next upgrade.

As far as the information i got (but don't shoot me if i'm wrong), the next
Visual Studio will not be there before end of 2004.

It might be a better idea to purchase a one year MSDN Professional
subscription as you get a lot more software and you will get free upgrades
for the duration of your subscription (which means if VS.Net 2004 "Whidbey"
gets released during your subscription you will get it for free). See the
