this may seem odd but as someone who travels A LOT I need a really portable
development device for .NET -

I know .NET will run on pocket pc, what about development tools ?

Is there anything available between a laptop and a pda - ? Laptops are
overkill with really bad battery life!

thanks

Visual Studio won't run on a Pocket PC. Theoretically you could code by
writing text files, although you'd probably have to compile them on a PC.

Why bother, though? Laptops are cheaper, smaller and have better battery
life than ever. Plus they have keyboards. The Centrino-based laptops can
get up to 8-10 hours batter life (depending on the model), if you have two
batteries installed.

If you really need portability, there are some ultralights, like the Sony
Vaio PCG-TR1A (not cheap, though):

Hi,

Visual Studio 2003 Professional or higher. Or, Embedded Visual Tools 3.0
(available from Microsoft as a download or for the shipping charge).
