Hello,

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to develop a
automated slideshow in powerpoint that would possibly be linked to
database and as the database was updated the slideshow would also b
updated. Is there some sort of software developer kit out there tha
might be useful for this? If so, where could I find it. Thanks fo
your help.

Matt,

I have used pptmerge for this. It is based on a template you define, and
uses references in an Excel spreadsheet to load the presentation with text,
images, etc. If the details in the database change, I simply run it again. I
think you can download a demo to ensure it is suitable before going further.

Apart from that, you could link your images into a pps file. But be careful
of losing the links.

Hi Matt. Take a look at www.take-off.as/datapoint. There you find an add-on
to link your presentation to text files, excel and database for online and
offline presentations. It's new.

Online: run the presentation and the content is changed automatically as the
data source changes

Offline: generate a new 'unlinked' presentation.

Kurt.
