Does anyone know if there is a newsgroup for posting development questions?

So my question to the group is about viewing pps files in a webrowser. This
capability is available on systems where a licensed copy of Powerpoint has
been installed but is not available on systems that have the free Powerpoint
view installed. The free viewer does not install the necessary OLE controls
(progID "powerpont.application" and "powerpoint.show") to play the file in
the browser, so my question is: is there a resdistributable package or SDK
that will install the necessary files? If not, is the binary format of the
PPS/PPT files available for the purpose of possible building a customer
viewer control?

Thanks,
James

Correct, it requires the run time engine of PPT or the viewer.

Not to my knowledge.
If not, is the binary format of the PPS/PPT files available for the

Not really, MS guards the format very tightly.
