determining version of Windows XP, home edition: is SP2 included

I have a boxed version of Windows XP Home Edition, but it does not say if it
has SP2. How can I find out? It is not installed, nor has it ever been.
The date on the folder it is in says it is Version 2002. Does this include
SP2?

My real purpose in asking is that I want to install Windows on a Mac (the
latest laptop allows this!), which requires a disk with Windows XP SP2, and I
understand SP2 can't be downloaded and installed later. If you know about
that issue and if that understanding is correct, confirmation would be
appreciated.

Thanks so much!

(The Microsoft website does not recognize the product key, so I can't get to
their support.)

no, sp2 has not been out for that long, but you can see if you have SP1, go
to your desktop and right click on My Computer>properties. On that first
page look for 'system' Whatever you have will be listed.

Boot Camp does require XPSP2.

You may also like to look at Parralles (http://www.parallels.com) this
allows you to run any version of Windows (3.1, 3.11, 95, 98, Me, 2000,
NT, XP, 2003), any Linux distribution, FreeBSD, Solaris, OS/2,
eComStation, or MS-DOS at the same time as OSX. It works by creating
virtual machines, even the virtual ethernet cards work.

Maybe I misunderstood. The op said she/he had a boxed version that does not
say if SP2 is included, so I took the op to mean, that the op had not
installed it, and perhaps the op may have thought that it came with the
boxed version of xp, but had to install it as a separate install, and had
not yet done so. And since the op said she/he had a boxed version, I assumed
that meant that it was already purchased, not thinking of purchasing.

I think the poster has said that it is NOT installed yet - so how to find
out before - whilst in the box.
Or can he put it in his current machine just to find out.
Updates are still available for both SP1 and SP2
This may be the best place to start;
