I went to the Alta Vista site and typed the following (including quotation marks into the search field: +"public record" +detective +freeware +search +background Got a bunch of hits. Give it a try, you might find something there. Be aware though, that even though a program to help you do this kind of thing may be free, accessing public records sometimes costs money.
