Daniel,
Assuming you are trying to notify users of record locks
where one user is locking a record that other users need
to modify, you can just turn on the Record Selector
located in the Format tab of the form's properties.
If a user is editing a record, the pencil icon will
display in the upper portion of the record selector bar.
Other users who view this record during the 1st user's
editing session will see a circle with a line through it
in their own record selectors (indicating that the record
is locked by another user). These users can still view
the locked record.
The record lock is released when the 1st user saves
his/her changes.
