details suppressed, wont export to excel the subtotals

Is there a way to export a report to excel that only has
totals of a group with all details suppressed?
I cannot figure it out, I go to excel and I get a blank
spreadsheet.

Exporting a report is a messy way to go about it. You
should try to come up with a query that calculates the
totals you need and export that instead.
