In Control Panel, click DISPLAY|SETTINGS and verify the resolution
settings. 1024 X 768 is good for a 17" monitor.
If it doesn't offer that choice, reinstall the video drivers. If you are
in the dark about that process, try to enlist the help of someone who is
familiar with it.
