Open Control Panel/System/Advanced Tab. In the Performance section, click
the Settings Button. Scroll to the bottom of that list and select the "Use
drop shadows for icons on the desktop" option.

also...I right clicked on desktop and selected arrange icons and then unclicked lock web item on desktop..it worked
