desktop wallpaper problem

Hi Please could someone help me, I have read through the wallpaper problems
but my one is not there. On right clicking the desktop to change my wallpaper
(which I cannot do) the desktop tab shows all my pictures in BHP format and
will not change, how do I do this please.
