Desktop to refresh every "n" minutes

Is it possible to have a scheduled task run every 5 minutes and have my
desktop refreshed?

Sometimes my icon names change to default options and so I already have
a reg file entry that renames them to what I want (and the icons I want)
every "nn" minutes. But then I would need to refresh the desktop to
update this. Was just hoping I could do this in one go instead of having
to manually press F5.
