Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knew what policy (or registry change) is required
to force the Windows XP style after every shutdown/reboot. I know what
registry changes I need to force the classic start menu vs the XP start menu
but can't seem to find what to change to force the XP Style taskbar vs the
Classic taskbar.

thanks!

The Taskbar is part of Themes. I believe in order to get the Classic
Taskbar you have to have the Classic Theme. Or a modified Classic Theme.

I have the Classic theme with Bliss wallpaper. Which is listed as Modified
Theme. I have the Classic taskbar. Changing my Start Menu does not change
the Taskbar.

If XP Pro you can use Group Edit...
Start | Run | Type: gpedit.msc | OK |

Navigate to >>>

User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Start Menu and Taskbar\
Force Classic Start Menu

User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Control Panel\
Force Classic Control Panel Style

User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Control Panel\Desktop Themes\
Load a specific visual style file or force Windows Classic

Look around a little.

Double click each item and click the have a look at the Explain tab
