Can anyone help when I try logging in to my user desktop nothing happens only
when I do control alt del the system opens up and I get an error message
which say's C:\documents and settings\andywood\localsettings\temp\pftc~temp
corrupt file run scan disk, when i do this a diagnostic runs and I ask for a
fix but this doesn't sort the problem.I have looked under the start up file
but nothings there.Has this been deleted for some reason? if so could I get a
fix from microsoft over the net?

Woody,

What software did you install recently ? The error is related to the
installer looking for a file in the Temp folder. Suggest you first
deduce what was installed lately and then attempt to repair it using the
Change button in Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel. If there is
no Change button for the installed software, uninstall it. Clear the
Temp folder of all of it's contents, then reinstall the software.

If you haven't been scanning the system with the latest virus
definitions of the installed Antivirus program, then all bets are off.
Have it scanned at Kaspersky's Online Scanner using Internet Explorer:
