Hello

When I turn on my PC, my desktop seems to load fine, then it takes about four minutes to load up all those small icons, in the bottom right hand side of the monitor.

I can't do anyhting until the icons have loaded. I 've got Norton 2004 and it removed the blaster worm. Generally, my PC is slower than it used to be and I have a fast processor.

Any advice appreciated.

Sounds like you have a ton of things loading on startup.

Determine of the programs in your task bar that you need.
If you can change the options of the programs fromt the
icons in the bottom right, change them to not initiate on
start up...then:

From there go to Your C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Start Menu\Programs\Start up.

Remove any programs you don't need to load on start up,
just delete them from here. Do this for all the users
thats have Folders under teh C:\Documents and Settings\
Folder.

This should speed things up a little.
