Desktop Shortcuts

Somehow I lost the shortcuts from the desktop of a Win XP home addition system, all that remains is the 4 icons for my computer, my documents, etc.. When I try to restore them using the various methods described in the help section, I always end up with duplicate icons, and if I delete one, they both disappear. I can create shortcuts in the start menu with no problem. Anyone run across this one before?

Never have. Your problem seems unusual. Did you reboot

your computer? Or did you use quick restore? On either of
those you would have to use a disk so you would know if
you did. If not then you will have to add them again. =/
