Desktop shortcuts to websites stop working

Websites that I've placed as shortcuts on the desktop
stop working. When I click on a shortcut to get to a
website it doesn't bring up the site. "Favorites" still
works, but I find the desktop more convenient for
frequently used sites.

This feature used to work but I can't figure out what
happened to make it stop working.

I also have the "single click" option set so that I don't
have to double click on icons.

Any suggestions to fix this?
 
Open Internet Explorer > Tools > Options > Programs > "Reset Web Settings". You may also need to download the URL association fix from Doug's site: http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm

If this does not help, post back with more information [error message?]
