Hi All,

Based on the special needs of one of our user groups, I'm interested to know
if there is a way to create a desktop shortcut that a user can double-click
to set a printer as default. For example, we'd have two icons titled 'Set
Network Printer as Default' & "Set Mobile Printer as Default'. The user
would be able to double-click the appropriate icon to change their default
printer.

I've already got shortcuts that they can right-click and choose 'Set as
default', but just wanted to see if I can eliminate additional steps.

Thanks & Ciao,

Tony

Well you can put a shortcut on the desktop simply by
right clicking the printer and selecting create
shortcut. As for just clicking the printer to say that
is the default Im pretty sure cannot be done, only
because when you double click a printer, it will take you
to the printer que.

You can tell the user that if they are familar with
windows explorer, that they can simply just drag a
document to the printer and it will print usuing that
printer, that way it wont matter whether it is set as
default or not.
