I have a user that was just upgraded a new system and XP
was loaded. I updated all the security patches, hotfixes,
and the SP for the OS.
He has created shortcuts on his desktop for the floppy
drive, dvd-rom drive, cd-rw drive, and the zip drive. When
he tries to access these drives he receives the following
error:
The item 'D:\' (or the drive he is trying to access)that
this shorcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this
shortcut will no longer work properly.
Do you want to delete this shorcut.
The target location for all the shortcuts are correct. I
found the following KB article: 824143. The only issue is
that what the artcile says is the cause of this issue, the
user does not have the newest version of that update. Like
I said earlier, I installed all the updates, fixes and the
SP for XP.
Any response is highly appreciated. Thanks, Christina
