When booting the computer in Windows XP, the wallpaper
loads, then the screen goes black, then wallpaper
reappears with desktop icons but color quality of display
goes to 8-bit. Display settings are changed back to true
color (32-bit), i click apply, then ok. Looks great.
When I reboot, the system repeats the above procedure
displaying an 8-bit color display.
Any suggestions? It's driving me nuts to change the
display every time I turn on the computer. This is an
older Sony laptop bought new in 1998 running Windows XP.
