Generally speaking, if a computer is working well then upgrading to any beta
version of anything is potentially risky. But you can always create a
restore point first then roll back if necessary. Has version 3 got must-have
features that are really important to you?

The 2.6.5.5401 has been running on my system for weeks and still has items
to search. As you note, I am concerned with issues of the beta, but cannot
find any posts here or searching google to see what people are saying about

In my view, you should never run a beta version of anything unless it's on
an extra machine dedicated to testing purposes--one in which you don't care
if you lose everything on it.
