Desktop Problem

I am trying to solve a problem with desktop. The desktop is showing the
"Folders Options" bar on the left side of the screen. I can't seem to get
rid of it and not sure how the person got it there. Anybody know how to
remove this damn thing!!! Driving me crazy......
