desktop problem

to help people understand my problem do this:

1) open My Computer
2) look to left at bar with folder options (the blue one, not the folder
structure)

well my problem is that i have that blue vertical bar on my desktop with
options and everything. but it is annoying and i want to get rid of it. any
solutions?

It's called the "Common Tasks Bar."
To get rid of it, go to Doug Knox's site, www.dougknox.com
<http://www.dougknox.com>. On the left,
click Win XP Fixes, then Remove Common Tasks from Desktop.
