I want to change my desktop picture.
How do I do that?
Thanks in advance.

Right-click on the desktop and choose Properties. Go to the Desktop tab.
Either choose a picture from the list presented or browse to any other
picture on your hard drive.

This is a very basic thing that everyone should know. Why not find a
beginner's book on Windows XP ??

My question is why would you waste your time to berate a person that you
don't know for asking a question in a newsgroup that exists to answer just
such BASIC XP questions?

This is microsoft.public.windowsxp.BASICS you know...

Click on Start, Help and Support, type "desktop picture" and click the green
arrow. In the pane on the left click on "Full-text Search Matches" and
then click "Change your desktop background". Follow the instructions.
