A blue box covering the entire left of my screen has appeared recently. It
has three categories.... Folder tasks, other places and details. I have
tried everything to get it to go away. I don't know if my husband
accidentally opened it. With my luck, it is something easy that I am
overlooking. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!

While in Windows Explorer select 'Tools' on the main toolbar, then select
'Folder Options' on the General tab under Tasks check the 'Use Windows
classic folders' check box.

If you select 'show common tasks' you can either have a folder tree view, or
the tasks you mentioned in your post, switching between the two with the
'Folders' button next to 'Search' on the toolbar.

Hope this Helps

Simon.

It's called the "Common Tasks Bar."

To get rid of it, go to Doug Knox's site, http://www.dougknox.com. On the
left, click Win XP Fixes, then Remove Common Tasks from Desktop.
