Desktop Items Disappear

Hi all,

I have a group policy for redirecting users desktop items to their home
folder, which is located on the network. When that home folder link is
broken, the desktop items disappear. To get them back, the user must log off
and then back on again (once the network link to the home folder has been
re-established).

Is there any way to get the desktop items to re-appear without having to log
off and on again? A command line command perhaps?
Network is a 2k domain with 2k and XP workstations.

Click on an "empty" area of the desktop (not on an icon or window) and hit
"F5". It is the only thing I know.

Thanks!
A little more searching and I found this answer too... and it works.
