You can drag it back into the Start Menu. Do this by right clicking and
dragging the icon and at the same time clicking on the "Windows" button on
your keyboard so that the Start Menu appears. Note that while you're
dragging the icon, a copy of is created and you're dragging the copy. The
one on the desktop will remain on the desktop. Now simply drag the copy
back over to "Programs" on the Start Menu (where it was originally located).
"Programs" should open up and expand, and you can drop the icon back into
it's original location. The shortcut on the desktop will still remain.
