Hello, can anyone help with this issue? I had it occur in WIN98, but forgot
the fix...lol.

On the desktop, double clicking an icon normally opens it...but now, it
brings up the context menu, as if I had right clicked. How do I restore a
left double click to open instead of bringing up the submenu?

Thanks to all for any assistance.

Hi there,

1. Click Start, Control Panel.
2. On left hand corner of control panel screen, click
switch to classic view.
3. Double click Mouse icon.
4. In the Mouse properties window, under Buttons tab,
deselect "Switch Primary and Secondary Buttons"

5. Click Ok.

HTH, Happy 2004!

I haven't seen this in WinXP yet, but in Win98SE I found that
right-clicking on a blank part of the desktop pops up a menu that
includes "Refresh." Clicking that restores the normal left-click icon
response. XP has that menu, so it probablyl works the same way.
