desktop icons

I recently changed my browser back to IE7 from Foxfire. Now my desktop icons
will not open on-line sites. I get the "Open With" dialogue box and follow I
the instruction to no avail. Even when I create a new icon this still
happens. Please advise.

Please try the IE7 group.
The recommended newsgroup is microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

In a proper newsreader:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

In Firefox, Tools-Options-Main tab-Under System Defaults, Check Now.

If that doesn't work, then try:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm
Run the URL fix.

One solution: Manually open the sites using IE7, then create shortcuts using
IE7. Reason being that apparently Foxfire and IE7 have specific encoding
which trigger the "open with..." in the dialog box as the shortcut can't
find the original.
