desktop icons

has anyone lost icons on your desktop? I have all of mine, except iTunes and
Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop CS2. The programs work, but the desktop
icons are missing!
 
I believe vista now has the ability to turn off the desktop icons, prehaps
you tripped that by mistake?
