Desktop icons

When i add an icon to my desktop it appears on the other users desktop too.
And when the add or delete icons the same happens on my desktop. What do i
need to disable to stop this desktop sharing. Our own themes and wallpapers
are not affected.
The PC is about 2 months old running Windows Xp and is fully up to date.

The icons you see displayed on your desktop are stored in the
following locations:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop

C:\Documents and Settings\YOURUSERNAME\Desktop

Icons present in the All Users\Desktop folder will be visible
on the desktop, as the name suggests, all users of the
computer. The behavior you're seeing is due to the fact that
when you or the other users make changes to the desktop you're
really adding or deleting icons from this folder .

If you want to hide icons from all users, place them in the
appropriate users Desktop folder. Delete any icons from the All
Users\Desktop folder that you don't want seen by all users.
